Grok Bot and WhatsApp: How to Connect a WhatsApp Assistant for Your Business
The short answer
Grok Bot can sign you up for a WhatsApp assistant that answers your customers on your own number, and set it up. Ask it to add a custom MCP server called Conciergr at https://conciergr.com/mcp. There is no settings form for this: it adds the server from the chat, and you confirm.

The prompt to paste into Grok Bot
The steps
- Copy the prompt above.
- Paste it into your bot. The words "custom MCP server" matter: they tell it to add this address, not to look for a plugin in its catalogue.
- Check the name and address. The prompt asks your bot to show them first. The address should read
https://conciergr.com/mcp. If it asks you to confirm, press Add it. - Authorize, then approve. Press Authorize or Authenticate on the card it posts. Conciergr's page opens: sign in with your business email and approve. If no window opens, check for a blocked pop-up, then choose Reopen on the card.
- Tell it your business name. It starts your signup and hands you the card page.
- Add your card on Stripe's page. Only you can do this, and nothing is charged during the 30-day trial.
- Connect your WhatsApp number in Meta's window, on the phone with your WhatsApp Business app.
- Let it set everything up. It keeps working in the background, and asks a few questions at a time for what it can't find.
Your assistant stays paused until you say to switch it on. Prices are on the pricing page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which plan do I need for Grok Bot?
Cursor's plan guide (read 2 November 2026) says Grok Bot is included on The X Subscription's Premium, Super and Ultra, for individuals and team seats, but not on Plus or Free. On a legacy Cursor plan, it's included on every paid individual plan and on Cursor Teams.
My bot has gone quiet. What's wrong?
Check your usage first. On The X Subscription, Grok Bot draws on a weekly pool shared with Cursor and the Grok apps, and once that runs out, extra usage comes from prepaid credit. Legacy Cursor plans use on-demand usage instead. We've seen its Mac app ignore a message and show "Your prepaid balance is used up". Buy credit, turn on on-demand usage, or wait for the weekly reset.
Is this the same as Grok at grok.com?
No. Grok at grok.com adds a server through a page, grok.com/connectors, and has its own guide. Grok Bot adds it from the chat, and keeps working in the background on its own computer in the cloud, even when your laptop or phone is off.
Should I let Grok Bot read my customer chats?
Check your data settings first, because a connected bot can read chats if you ask it to. xAI's docs (read 2 November 2026) say "Training opt-out follows the applicable Cursor account and privacy settings" and that Grok Bot "requires data storage and does not support Legacy Privacy Mode". They also say files, browser sessions and command line credentials on its computer are available across all your bots.
Can Grok Bot send messages to my customers?
Not through Conciergr. A connected bot can do what you can do in your portal, such as change settings and read what's waiting, but through Conciergr it cannot message your customers, take a payment or connect a number. Grok Bot has its own separate apps too, so check what else you've connected it to.
How do I disconnect it?
Press Disconnect in your Conciergr portal, and it stops at once. xAI's docs also say to delete a connector or revoke its authorisation when you no longer need it.
Do you have this for other AI apps?
Yes: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, your dot in ChatGPT and Meta's Muse. All of them are on the AI assistants page.
Conciergr answers your enquiries in seconds, around the clock, from documents you own, and your team keeps using WhatsApp exactly as before. Sign up by pasting one prompt into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini; you add the card and connect WhatsApp yourself, and the first 30 days are free.
