How to Connect WhatsApp to Claude for Your Business

The short answer

Add Conciergr to Claude as a custom connector and paste one prompt: Claude signs you up, builds your documents and sets up an assistant that answers customers on your business's own WhatsApp number. The address to add is https://conciergr.com/mcp. Claude is the helper here. It works on your Conciergr account for you, and Conciergr's assistant does the talking on WhatsApp.

We ran the prompt below in Claude on 1 November 2026, on an account already connected to Conciergr. It reached Stripe's card page, where we stopped.

Your screen gets the laptop or phone version automatically.

Signing up with Claude, start to finish (77 seconds, narrated). The screens are recreated with an invented business.

The prompt to paste into Claude

Sign me up for Conciergr, the WhatsApp assistant for my business, and set it up. First, help me add Conciergr to you as a custom connector (an MCP server) at https://conciergr.com/mcp. I add it myself on claude.ai in a web browser; you tell me where to click, one step at a time: the + in the message box, Connectors, Add connector, Add custom connector, name it Conciergr, paste the address, Continue. It signs in with OAuth: there is no API key, and any client ID and client secret fields stay empty. I'll sign in on Conciergr's page with my business email and connect you. Once you're connected, follow Conciergr's instructions to sign me up and set everything up, one step at a time. Only I add the card and connect my WhatsApp number.

The steps

  1. Copy the prompt above.
  2. Paste it into Claude. Start a new chat on claude.ai.
  3. Add the connector on claude.ai. Press the + in the message box, then Connectors, Add connector and Add custom connector. Name it Conciergr, put the address under MCP server URL and press Continue. Customize, then Connectors, gets you to the same place.
  4. Sign in and approve. Conciergr's page opens. Use your business email and connect Claude.
  5. Tell it your business name. It starts your signup and hands you the card page.
  6. Add your card on Stripe's page. Only you can do this, and nothing is charged during the 30-day trial.
  7. Connect your WhatsApp number in Meta's window, on the phone with your WhatsApp Business app.
  8. Let it set everything up. It learns your business from what it can reach, then asks a few questions at a time for the rest.

Your assistant stays paused until you say to switch it on. Prices are on the pricing page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Claude plan do I need?

Any of them, within limits. Anthropic's help page "Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP" (read 1 November 2026) lists Free, Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise, with one custom connector on the Free plan. On Team and Enterprise plans, Owners add them for the workspace.

Is this the same as a "WhatsApp MCP server" from GitHub?

No. Those community projects usually sign in to a personal WhatsApp account and let an AI app read and send from it, which is useful to a tinkerer and a poor fit for a business. Conciergr connects your number through Meta's official signup, and your staff keep using the WhatsApp Business app as before. Claude never gets to send to your customers.

Can Claude send messages to my customers?

No. A connected Claude can do what you can do in your portal and Team Inbox, such as change settings, link documents and read chats, but it cannot message your customers, take a payment or connect a number.

Should I let Claude read my customer chats?

Only once you've checked your Claude data settings. A connected Claude can read chats if you ask, so decide first whether your plan's terms suit your customers' messages.

I already use Conciergr. Does the prompt still work?

Yes. In our test, Claude noticed it was already connected, skipped the setup clicks and offered to sign up another business. When it needs to work on the new business, it asks you to connect again and choose it.

Does this work with Claude Duet?

We haven't tried it. Duet, Anthropic's proactive agent, was a research preview by waitlist for US users on Pro, Max and Ultra when we looked on 1 November 2026. Its help page says it works with connectors you've connected in Claude, but doesn't mention custom ones.

Do you have this for other AI apps?

Yes: ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, your dot in ChatGPT and Meta's Muse. All of them are on the AI assistants page.

Put your WhatsApp line on autopilot.

Conciergr answers your enquiries in seconds, around the clock, from documents you own, and your team keeps using WhatsApp exactly as before. Sign up by pasting one prompt into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini; you add the card and connect WhatsApp yourself, and the first 30 days are free.
